<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Vie de Romans  Isonzo del Friuli Flors de Uis 2007</strong> 91 points WS<br />
Apple  pie, peach crumble and cream aromas follow through to a full-bodied  palate, with loads of fruit, but a bright and lively underlying acidity  pulls the wine together. Offers hints of cream, mineral and dried fruit  on the finish. Very flinty. Malvasia Istriana, Tocai Friulano and  Riesling Renano.</p>
<p><strong>Taburno Fidelis Aglianco   2006 </strong>90 pt WA<br />
The  2006 Aglianico del Taburno Fidelis is an excellent choice for readers  who want to explore one of southern Italy’s great red varieties.  The  Fidelis is made predominantly of Aglianico, although it has small  percentages of Merlot (5%) and Sangiovese (5%). It is fermented in  stainless steel and aged in a combination of large oak casks and used  French-oak barrriques. This forward, soft red offers up sweet cherries,  smoke, herbs, spices and cured meats in an approachable style, with  plenty of varietal character and tons of personality. It is a fabulous  effort from Cantina del Taburno, as well as a terrific value.</p>
<p><strong>Les Cretes Coteau La Tour 2005 </strong>92 pt WA<br />
The  single-vineyard 2005 Coteau La Tour is 100% Syrah that spent nine  months in 300-liter French oak barrels. This polished, full-bodied red  is loaded with ripe dark fruit, sweet spices, toasted oak and  earthiness. Made in a full-bodied style, the wine offers outstanding  balance, particularly in the way the tannins are beautifully folded into  the layers of fruit. This is a terrific effort.</p>
<p><strong>Carpineto Fontalpino Do ut des 2007 </strong>94 pts WS<br />
Very  ripe and intense on the nose, with prune, licorice, blackberry and  flowers. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, powerful finish  that offers lots of toasty oak and ripe fruit. A full-throttle style.  Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.</p>
